Welcome Message from
Cardinal DiNarado.

As Catholics we believe in the dignity of the human person created in the image and likeness of God. Even in death, God calls us to love and care for our dear ones and treat their earthly remains with dignity. Our cemeteries are a living expression of these truths.

Catholic Cemeteries remind us that God has created a place for us in heaven. They are sacred places where family and friends come and feel welcome to pray for those who rest in the sleep of peace. In them we find our own peace and are comforted that our beloved departed will live forever in communion with Him.

I welcome you to our web site, and invite you to visit our cemeteries online and in person.

May God bless you and give you peace,

Daniel Cardinal DiNardo,
Archbishop of Galveston-Houston

Mission and Vision

The mission of the Archdiocesan Cemeteries is to evangelize to all the good news of Jesus Christ. This is accomplished in ministry to the community through works of mercy and the development and care of the Cemetery as a visible symbol of our faith and hope in the resurrection. The Catholic Cemetery is consecrated as a sacred place where prayer and liturgy are celebrated.

Our vision is to establish an interactive place of prayer and remembrance. We endeavor to create a sanctuary of beauty and comfort to the sorrowful, but more to encourage hope and allow the Holy Spirit to heal and strengthen our faith. The Catholic Cemetery is a place where faith brings us together in a celebration of life
